Oscar Campana Cardenas

What is your background?
I’m originally from Peru, and my family has been raising cattle for several generations. I studied Law and International Business.

What is your role at Grazelands Rewilding?
As the Operations Director, my focus is on rewilding – I am responsible for planning, training, and providing support for all our projects both in the Netherlands and abroad.

What drives you in your work?
The fact that the animals are allowed to express their wild behavior in the free nature, and that people learn more and get excited about the primal instinct. We’re not only rewilding animals and nature, but also ourselves.

What makes you happy in your work?
Releasing the animals into a new wild habitat.

What animal would you like to be?
The Tauros. With its strong primal instinct, curiosity, strength, social behavior, and important role in rewilding nature.
